Hot Springs Scenes, Book VI

Thursday, October 6th 2011 - Book 133 - It was Kate's birthday, so I came over with a birthday gift book I made for her the night before.  I made it from an old wooden pencil box and a bunch of photos I clipped out of my supply of factory-processed books to tell a birthday story featuring the Da Ma Girl and Captain Sir Richard Burton. The phone service wasn't so good out there (ha, ha), so I arrived with the intention of carrying out our original birthday plan, packing in beer, the fixing for pizza, and my bookmaking props to make this book from the beer box cover and the plastic wrapping the pizza crust. However, once I arrived, I realized that they were hardly in birthday mode. One of the mysterious Goldmeyer Hot Springs Board Members, Beth, had showed up to work on the on-going drainage ditch project. Eariler that summer, Beth took the wine bag book I made for the past, present, and future caretakers out of the cabin, claimed to be reading it, and promised to return it when she ws done...but I have my doubts to whether that happened. My guess I'll go there next time, and find it misssing. Anyway, Will and Kate were not in good moods. So, I changed my plan. I helped Will haul rocks while I listened to him vent about Beth for a while, did some ditch digging with Kate, and then I started dinner and this book.

After dinner we went up for a soak where Will showed off his throat singing in the cave. I wrote the first page of this production scene using a flashlight in the lower pool, but I soon gave up my mission...and enjoyed the rest of the evening with my Special Guest Stars.
