Saturday June 25th - Book 32 - I was going to turn 33 tomorrow. I had my first ever "epic bookpacking adventure" planned, but I had no sun...just more drizzle from the northern Cascades. So, I developed this production scene to conjure some sun for me. As a more average than the average American suburbianite, given my collective History (with a capital H), I felt sort of dirty thinking about calling upon any of the ancient gods for help. I was sure that every god...from the sun, moon, to the slug god was pretty pissed at me for all the shit we Americans do everyday, so I called upon our corporate sun god, Dole, for help. This was the perfect work scene to set the stage for The Birthday Books.
PROP COSTS: $9.80 + (STORYTIME WORKED: 2hrs 10min x OUR EXCHANGE RATE (based on fed minimum wage): $7.25) = $25.50
This book was sold on July 9th 2015 at the Gresham Arts Festival...I think. I also think it's possible I confused the two Dole Books and this one went to Matt Porter at Bumpershoot...Oops. The one featured in this picture is my favorite of the two :)
