Hot Springs Scenes, Book III (sold)

Wednesday, August 24th 2011 - Book 102 - I found the materials I used for this book on my return journey home from making Hot Springs Scenes, Book II. The first thing I found was an American flag followed, a hundred feet or so, by a plastic bag folded like they fold flags in the military. I told Kate about the trash I found, and she agreed that I should transform it into a book cover...with the help of some old carpet I salvaged from Wallowa County. Will and Kate were both too busy to watch my bookmaking scene attentively, but I thought that was great. In The Living City people are free to develop different work scenes side by side and support each other. Here's a shot of Will fixing their cabin's pumping while I cut pages and heckled him. His signature "plumber's crack" wasn't added as an accident.

Unlike the previous Hot Springs Scenes, I made this one completely on site at Goldmeyer. I started it down at the caretaker's cabin with Will and Kate, and finished it minting The Making of The Living City scene while soaking in the spring.

PROP COSTS: $10.40 + (STORYTIME WORKED: 3hrs 52min x OUR EXCHANGE RATE (based on fed minimum wage): $7.25) = $38.43

I sold this book October 3rd 2015 at the Affordable Arts Festival to my Uncle Jim for $10, which is (if you account for the fact that he has almost nothing to give after he pays his bills) roughly worth something like $1,234.32 in his financial world.
