Thursday, September 1st 2011 - Book 105 - I was at the height of mining season, packing down crystals and gear for Bob who was preparing to leave Spruce for another mine in mid September. The day before I made this one I drove to North Bend for a supply run (and call Emily), which included a new water pump for my Ford Ranger. I was proud of myself for changing the old pump out in the back of NAPA autoparts in the rain. And I quote, "I expected everyone in the autoparts store to cheer and applaud wildly when I walked back in, after the battle, with the old water pump dead in my greasy hands." I also used this scene to vent about the trouble we were having with Bob's air compressor, which was caused me to hike up and down the mountain each time it decided to take a "nap."
